Contact Sharing Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
Why contact details are hidden
To keep everyone safe and to protect both drivers and customers, TowMyCar automatically hides phone numbers, email addresses, links and other contact details in the in-app chat until a job is confirmed by both sides.
When a message tries to share contact information before that point, the detail is replaced with [removed due to communication policy] and both parties are shown a short notice.
Why we do this
- Safety first. Details are only exchanged once both the driver and the customer have committed to the job.
- Fair, trackable jobs. Keeping the conversation in-app means quotes, timings and agreements are recorded, so we can support you if something goes wrong.
- Protection from scams. Hiding links and numbers reduces the risk of off-platform fraud and unwanted contact.
How to share contact details
Contact details are unlocked automatically as soon as both the driver and the customer have accepted the job. Once the job is confirmed:
- You can exchange phone numbers directly in the chat.
- Direct call and messaging options become available.
Until then, please keep arranging the job through the in-app chat.
What gets hidden
- Phone numbers — including numbers split up or disguised with symbols.
- Email addresses.
- Website links and shortened URLs.
- References that steer the conversation to other platforms.
